Outstanding ‘world first’ achievement for vibration analysis expert
One of AV Technology’s vibration experts Linda Rabady has become the first woman in the world to achieve Category 4 Vibration Analysis status via the US Vibration Institute in Illinois. This is the highest accolade attainable in the important field of vibration analysis and 27 year old Linda is also one of the youngest engineers to have passed the tough examination.
The qualification requirements are extremely challenging and to be certified as a Category IV Vibration Analyst, an individual must already be certified as a Category III Vibration Analyst. The certification committee recommends at least five years of experience and subjects involved include: Signal Processing, Advanced Diagnostics, Vibration Correction and Control, Dual Channel Analysis and Structural/Rotor-Dynamic Testing.
The Vibration Institute's Certification Program follows the International Standards Organization standard, ISO 18436.2, Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics of Machines - Requirements for Training and Certification of Personnel - Part 2: Vibration Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics.
AVT’s MD Steve Mottershead is delighted with Linda’s outstanding achievement and as he concludes: "This prestigeous endorsement is just reward for Linda’s dedication, hardwork and expertise in the field of vibration. There are less than a hundred male members of this exclusive Category 4 club worldwide and Linda has shown that she is now one of the world’s top vibration analyst experts. It is also excellent news for AVT. We are the UK’s leading independent condition monitoring company and have an unrivalled resource of highly qualified vibration engineers. Linda has now set our internal benchmark even higher!"
